Meditation is an act of controlling our thoughts to experience a state of deep calmness. Our thoughts come from our mind; so eventually, we are controlling our mind with the help of meditation. At another level, to meditate means to go deeper inside of us to find the Truth.
The concentration on energy points in the body, like the third eye or the heart chakra greatly increases the inner power & the personal frequency of vibration of the practitioner. In parallel, the act of meditation also expands the consciousness. Fifteen minutes of meditation twice a day is a good start, with one session early morning before sunrise & another session before going to sleep.
Care should be exercised not to overdo things because there are great chances of getting carried away by the magnificence of the spiritual energy. Fifteen minutes of meditation seem, at first, to be simple but I can assure you that waking up before sunrise is a feat that few of us want to achieve because laziness & the comfort of a bed will be stronger than your willpower to start meditation.
But, with perseverance the objective shall be reached & with time, one shall not even need an alarm clock to wake up -it will be automatic. At this stage, it is worthwhile to note that the Divine world, wherever it is in parallel dimensions & galaxies to us, wakes up at three in the morning everyday, So, if you see you regularly open your eyes from sleep at this particular time, then the chances of you being a spiritual person is very high!
Meditation can be viewed as a fire which transforms a person completely. The simplest way of meditating is to sit in a chair with the spine straight & to just be still as a silent observer – allow whatever happens to happen without trying to correct or analyse or judge what is happening & why it is happening. Soon, with patience, you will enter in a state of tranquillity. Alternatively, one can sit on the ground with legs crossed or even better in the lotus posture of yoga. Another way of meditating which gives good results is to practice chakra meditation. The initial arrangement of sitting is the same but this same one has to focus on each of the seven main chakras whilst mentally repeating the appropriate sound for each chakra from root chakra to crown chakra.
The benefits of mediation are manifold & are as follows:
